Results of our patient survey

The SPECS network win-an-iPad competition for Apr-Jun 2013 asked participants to rank the most important factors affecting their choice of optician. We had almost 4,500 responses. You can view the results here.

The top 3 differentiators for customers were:

  1. Value for money (65%)
  2. Thorough eye exam (46%)
  3. Wide range of frames (36%)

We think that is interesting reading for independents! Only 8% of respondents went for "cheap" as a factor. Quality and choice (albeit driven by value) appear to be what customers really care about. And these are areas in which independents can compete effectively with the large multiples.
